Event Description
Arkan Dance Company is the Senior performing ensemble at the Ukrainian Academy of Dance, and has been a leading Ukrainian dance company in Toronto since 1995. Over 1,000 Arkan dancers have trained in various genres of dance since it's humble beginnings in Bloor West Village.
Arkan Dancers train in Ukrainian folk, men's and women's technique, classical ballet, character dance, and modern dance. The Company’s repertoire, enriched over the years through collaborations with esteemed choreographers from Ukraine, reflects a diverse representation of regional Ukrainian dance and is supported by an extensive collection of regional costumes.
Throughout its history, Arkan has proudly represented Ukraine and Canada at cultural festivals and events worldwide. Our dancers have graced stages in Canada, the United States, Taiwan, China, Mexico, Italy, South Korea, Indonesia, Ukraine, and most recently completed their second tour of Brazil (1997 & 2024).
