”Dawn” by Youry Bilak is a moving series of 33 photographs capturing the shattered innocence of Ukrainian children from war-torn areas like Bucha and Mariupol.
Taken after Russia’s 2022 invasion, each image reveals a haunting yet resilient spirit.
A display in the form of a large, disassembled photobook with accompanying stories, this powerful exhibit transforms statistics into faces, evoking deep emotional reflection on the impact of war and the fight for freedom for all, reminding Canadians of the value of peace and resilience in the face of oppression.
