Ucrainica Research Institute is pleased to invite you to a special lecture "Ukrainian Ritual on the Prairies: Growing a Ukrainian Canadian Identity" which will focus on the lives of Ukrainian Canadians on the prairies and their expressions of identity through rituals and celebrations.

Speaker: Professor Natalie Kononenko

She was the first holder of the Kule Chair in Ukrainian Ethnography (2004-2019).

She came to the University of Alberta from the University of Virginia where she was professor of Slavic Languages, Literatures, and Folklore.
