Mission Statement

Founded in 1945, the Ukrainian Canadian Women’s Council is a federation of women’s organizations which, irrespective of their religious or political affiliations, are united in their commitment to preserving the cultural and historical heritage contributions of the Ukrainian people, both in Canada and abroad.

The UCWC's Toronto Branch is comprised of four large women's umbrella organizations and representatives of their 14 branches in the GTA.

Goals and Objectives

(i) To reinforce a spirit of unity among Ukrainian-Canadian women’s organizations in the Greater Toronto Area through direct contact with the organizations and through the use of media and current communications resources for the harmonious and productive cooperation and for the good of the community;

(ii) To represent the interests of Ukrainian-Canadian women’s organizations throughout the Greater Toronto Area in a united way;

(iii) To plan and coordinate the work of Ukrainian-Canadian women’s organizations in joint undertakings, especially in the areas of academics, education, culture and social welfare.
