Event Description
The program is offered to older adults 55+ and is offered in-person or online via zoom. Funding for this program provided by the Seniors Community Grant from the Province of Ontario. Workshop is held in person at St. Demetrius Apartment 123 La Rose Avenue and virtually via zoom.
In this workshop, you will
• Learn about the polyphonic musical traditions in two separate homelands – Ukraine and Georgia – as well as what is polyphony, who performs it, and the way it is practiced in Toronto
• Watch unique videos of polyphonic Ukrainian and Georgian singing
• Have an opportunity to engage in experiencing polyphonic singing and get a feel of its power
